SAI has been spear heading the crusade for HIV/AIDS & S.T.I, since it's establishment. A major emphasis is given to awareness regarding HIV/AIDS without which its prevention is impossible. Awareness is also important to develop a positive attitude & acceptance for all PLHAS in the community. This in done in an innovative way of by different activities like: Street theatre by professional artists. Street plays by SWs. Slide shows. Poster exhibition Puppet shows.

SAI provides totally free medical-health services as follows:

Street Theatre: SAI has a street theatre with its own team of professional artists. With the help of humor & satire the serious messages regarding HIV/AIDS & S.T.I are propagated easily & yet not making it boring like didactic lectures. Plays are made using live mythological characters; so that the topics are easily related to day-to-day life & also gravity of situation can be impressed upon young minds. The catchy dialogues and lively characters of the play makes a deep impact on the minds of people.Similarly to make the DIDI's work in the field at grass-root level more interesting and interactive, we have also organized a street theatre group of the SWs who are taught by professional artists. They help to propagate the awareness in a jovial atmosphere & in a colorful way in the different red light areas as well as general public.Special plays not only for HIV/AIDS but also for S.T.I and other social issues are also done. These teams not only perform in the urban & red light area but also in the remote villages of Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Parbhani, Sangli etc, as they are also need of this knowledge. Initially we had to teach our DIDIs about HIV/AIDS, STI, etc. but now the DIDIs have taken the responsibility of social awareness on their own shoulders. This has now become a good example of role reversal for the betterment.

Slide shows & poster exhibition We also present slide shows & portrait exhibition as vivid pictures & slides make a profound impact on the minds of many. Actual visualization helps to create awareness regarding different issue easily. Puppet shows: Puppet shows have been organized by the team members of SAI. Professional training was given to some members & they made puppets on their own in the SAI office & performed in different areas. Library: There is a well-equipped library in SAI. It contains good book with latest knowledge for referral. It is frequently updated to keep the knowledge abreast with latest research of all kinds (medical as well as social). Thus talent & commitment knows no bound in SAI.
