INTERVENTION STRATERGIES FOR PREVENTION OF HIV/AIDS through Various Projects at SAI.

There is widespread agreement that providing treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS is imperative. SAI believes it is also imperative to scale up prevention efforts, as approximately three to four people are newly infected with HIV for every one person who begins treatment.

The most promising approach for reversing the spread of the pandemic and deaths due to AIDS is a comprehensive response. This approach encompasses tailored and appropriate prevention, testing, treatment, care and support interventions that target those at the greatest risk for contracting, transmitting or living with HIV.
